GJ’S DINER

My wife and I frequent this restaurant and have never had a bad meal (or bad service for that matter). The food is good, the servers are attentive, and the prices are reasonable. A consistently good experience!

GJs is the best family owned diner i have ever been to. My wife and I found this place 4 years ago when we moved to Garden City. Gabby (to find out was neighbor) has always been amazing!. She remembers our favorite foods (my whole familes) and always treats us with kindness, respect, and enthusiasm. GJs will always be our go to. I have spoken to the owner and cook a few times and he always been very pleasant, kind and accommodating. My family loves this place!!!

Stopped in for lunch with my father on a Thursday afternoon prior to my dad’s flight home. Waitress missed us coming in and apologized, quickly getting us drinks after noticing we had been sitting for a few minutes without acknowledgment. Food came super fast, like within 5 minutes and was very good. Really traditional diner/coney you will find in metro Detroit. My mother’s initials are GJ, might have played a factor in which place I picked for lunch, regardless I was happy with the choice and would return for a meal if in the area!

The staff was welcoming, friendly and warm. The inside had a classy splash of holiday decorations along with beautiful paintings. The food was classic, however my mother is the only person who gets 5 star food reviews from me. Specifically Roberta and Gabby made it amazing. Definitely coming back

I highly recommend avoiding. Saw one of the owners preparing my salad with his bare hands. When I politely and quietly asked the nice waitress for a refund she had to tell him why and he became incredibly rude and defensive of his actions by saying he's "allergic" to the gloves. Being an owner of the establishment he should know the food safety regulations that state when handling prepared food you must wear gloves. I don't want your bare hands in my salad. That's nasty man. Also, treat your customers better, I was t being loud or rude and was actually trying to do you a favor my asking for my refund quietly so the other people in the restaurant didn't hear me but way to call yourself out and make a scene. Your behavior is the reason for this review as well. That was my one and will be my
