If you’re looking for upscale this isn’t it. It’s a nice place, dated but nice. The service is great with a smile. The food … is not what I expected. The calamari is chewy but I appreciate it being seasoned. I had the veal parm over spaghetti. The sauce tasted like it was out of the local grocery store bottle. The veal was decent with melted mozzarella. Obviously the veal was put in the salamander to melt the cheese, placed on top of unseasoned pasta with sauce. My first clue should’ve been, not having Italian dressing for salad. Basically the food has no love. I’m just passing through town. But I wouldn’t come back.

It took me 3 years after moving to Texas ti find real pizza. After trying different pizzas all over the United States, including Connecticut, California, New York City, NY, Yonkers, NY, etc, to find fresh, delicious pizza 🍕 with my new wife was delightful surprise. Top compliments to the chef 👨‍🍳 and to the staff for bringing a great experience to East Texas. Thank you all.

The food, service, and atmosphere were very good. The food came out at just the right speed. The server was attentive and friendly. I went for the pasta sampler and all three were quite good.

GREAT tasting Italian food!! We had 3 different dishes and they were all perfect. Great service by the waitress too. Chocolate cake was very yummy!

Food: I had the Chicken Masala, the chicken was rubbery , the sauce was way too salty and the texture of the sauce was horrible, I have done better at home, no exaggeration, this was horrible, when I ine put I epect food prepared by someone much better at it than i, that is the point......even the mushrooms were limp;. Wife had the shrimp alfredo , it was not as bad but not good. Result: after having eaten nothing else from nowhere else but this meal at Gioannis...we both came down puking and sick. Out waitress was very attentive and pleasant, but anything from the kitchen was horrible. CAN NOT RECOMMEND with a clear conscience. NOTE: We are locals who just had not tried the place, so are not clueless as to what is normal on the local food scene
