Giovannis Italian Deli

I live in CT and whenever I happen to be in NJ I grab grinders here- The chix cutlet is the best sandwich I’ve ever had!! Friendly staff and prompt service. Went up in price but definitely worth it…absolutely delicious!

Working at a warehouse in the area and coming in here for lunch is the most perfectly New Jersey thing that could ever happen. These sandwiches are massive. The half sandwich is enough for two FULL meals. The chicken cutlet is crispy and crunchy. Mozz is fresh. Broccoli rabe cooked to perfection but costs $3 extra. Staff is very nice and efficient. Overall this sandwich is 12/10. -1 star for Tr*mp sign.

Delightful reader, please indulge for a minute in my tale to the deli of which Giovanni owns. My experience here was of words beyond my comprehension. The food was exquisite and a bliss to experience upon my taste buds. During my feast outdoors, I would on occasion look back and see the figure of Giovanni staring, watching. I then realized it was the door opened. It gave me quite a freight at first, but a hardy laugh after. This place is a masterpiece in its own, an enchantment, an immaculate establishment fit for all. You shall expect me to return again one day, and one day soon with company. Thank you for your time…

As someone who lived in Italy, this deli is as close as it gets to being in the homeland!!! I've been to many other places outside Italy and nothing compares. I wish I loved closer living near DC, but when im within 30 mi uses Gios is a must!!!

I’d walk my fatazz all the way from Scranton, Pennsylvania if that was the only way to get one of these hoagies. My hoagie: Chicken cutlet, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, broccoli rob, hot cherry peppers, with pesto and balsamic glaze.
