Gina's Cocina Mexicana

I have been to this place about five times already and there hasn’t been one time where the food has been bad. Everything is seriously so delicious. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Truly makes one feel as if they were family. The first thing I tried from this place was the tamal veracruzano which was so good, then chilaquiles, sopes, and the fried empanadas with either cheese or chicken. Seriously everything has been so good. It makes me excited to try other dishes. One of the staff members was kind enough to explain what garnachas are and they serve you sopita de conchitas. I love this place so so much. I truly hope more people will see the reviews 😭 PLEASE VISIT! My favorite restaurant in the rgv!

Gina’s cocina reminds me of my grandma’s cooking in Mx…simply delicious. The salsas in their different heats all have flavor to go with the hot or mildness…nothing is bland…down to the cheese or beans. The pork tamales always hit the spot for me. Portions are generous all around. Give it a try for breakfast, lunch or dinner they are open erryday! 👌👍

While in town visiting, we were hoping to find excellent, authentic Mexican food like we were accustomed to. Gina’s was our first stop on our visit and did not disappoint! The atmosphere was authentic, the service was wonderful and we were sold after our first bite. I would highly recommend dining at Gina’s Cocina Mexicana.

Staff was accommodating and nice. The food was good.

The food is really good and flavorful. The complimentary sopita with ground beef is delicious and the Jamaica is great! The horchata is ok and the coffee needs improvement for it taste like water. The tostadas are delicious and really filling and the garnachas are good but I would choose the hard boiled egg instead of the patita en escabeche for they dont shave the hairs off and the patita is full of hairs giving it a bad texture and look. Overall is a good restaurant with areas of improvement.
