Genesis Family Restaurant

Totally your grandmother’s home cooking! This family definitely knows how to cook! The Sunday buffet was loaded with a huge variety of meats AND vegetables plus bread and desserts. There was fried chicken, turkey and turkey wings, ham, ox tail stew, white corn, limas, cabbage, collard greens, yams, dressing, rice, macaroni and cheese, dumplings, and the list goes on! It was all so good we almost ate until we were sick! They had a variety of desserts too. We had the red velvet cake and banana pudding. Both were delicious. You’ll want to come here again and again. Great friendly service and the tables looked beautiful in white tablecloths and Valentine’s Day decor in the restaurant. Thank you for the best meal we have had in years.

Headed to the beach. Look for a place to eat per internet and Genesis showed up. Read about the place decided to try man that was the best this old stuff. Food was excellent home cooking to the tea. Soul food southern cooking my belly hurts after we left I ate so much. I recommend it I will be going back again and again and again staff was friendly everybody spoke even the other customers would speak to you as they passed just a good old southern place to be . When we entered a lady from by South Carolina magazine interviewed us for her next article we were impressed. She told us it was the second best restaurant in South Carolina

After a recommendation from a friend I went to Genesis. Paid a pretty penny for buffet for my husband and I. Not much variety and the things that were on the Buffett was not kept available to get. Used paper plates and cups and plastic utensils. The food was just so-so. Got scolded by an employee who thought I was using a plate that I had eaten out of. Some one else had given us extra plates and she had not so when I headed to the bar again, she yelled you can’t use that plate loudly so everyone heard. THE END!!!

I saw an episode of Country Style and there was a pop up that said it was Carolina Soul Food next to Citi Trends in Bennettesville SC. I tried to Google that name but YOUR restaurant keeps coming up. Are you the same people?

This is so different from what I’m used to. I got in right when they were opening, didn’t know they opened at 11:30. I was greeted like I was a long distance family member. Genuine southern hospitality with genuine southern cooking. Absolutely delicious well seasoned chicken thighs! Definitely give this place a visit if you’re driving through.
