Generous Joe's Deli

The Lunch Bunch had 10 members gather at Generous Joe's today. Our choices included 3 Chicken salad on bread or a sub roll with lettuce, tomato and Mayo. Absolutely fresh and delicious. Two people shared a beautiful pizza and they enjoyed it thoroughly. One person had a fried fish filet with salad on the side. Another had a beautiful Garden Salad with honey mustard dressing. Lost track what the others had. All enjoyed the food and the the friendly patrons and staff. We will be coming back soon!

The food is great, the people are great. This is an independent, local restaurant. No app, no creating an account. No service agreement. No service fee. You call the phone number, tell them your name, tell them you want the Italian sub, they tell you when to show up. Its perfect. No black friday emails, no rewards points. Just fair prices and quick service. The inside is dated, nothing Inside is painted flipper grey, or earth brown. The benches are colorful. They have free magnets next to the check out in case you want their number on your refrigerator, and you do. If you ask the person at the counter a question and they don't know the answer they ask the guy cooking right behind them, because he is the boss. There is no corporate office. They don't ask you to round up to donate. They

Classic unpretentious American sub shop. Great pizzas, cheese steaks, etc. Eating here feels like stepping back to a simpler time down to the seating, gumball machine, and arcade cabinet. Love our hometown subshop.

I’m honestly so disappointed with this place. We used to come here all the time, and I always loved their cheeseburger. But today was just awful. They were clearly stressed with too many orders, and when our food finally came out, they realized they had forgotten one cheeseburger. They rushed to make it, but when I got it, the bun was cold. I told them about it, and the response I got was, “Sorry, this is the best I can do for you now because the oven is packed.” Seriously? That’s your answer to a loyal customer? I can’t believe how poorly they handled it. Sadly, after today, they’ve lost a regular customer.

Best food place in Greenbelt. Great place, great food, friendly staff. We try to come here at least once each week and so far we never had and issues with our orders. Tried at least half the different menu items so far, each item has been great. Good location too, plenty of neat things in the surrounding area.
