GCSU Max (GCSU Maxwell Student Union)

We ate here with a high school group who was touring the campus on Thursday. Granted, we were quite late for lunch (2:00), but we paid full price for ridiculous options. The sandwich station attendant was quite rude to the kids. They had a pizza option, salad, and soup. Everything else was closed. It’s understandable that it wouldn’t be a full lunch at 2:00, but the price should’ve been discounted. I was surprised at the very poor experience for prospective college students.

Decent food that gets more hate than it deserves. I feel like people trash it just because it’s school food or something but it’s really good most of the time. Only bad thing is they limit your food choices after lunch for some reason which is a little frustrating.

Most of the workers are very nice, but the food is just ok. They redesigned the cafeteria and it is so much worse. There are too many seats for large groups, and it is cramped. Lots of people eating alone or in groups of three or less will have to take up an entire table for 8, simply because there isn't other options. The time is awful as well, closing at 7 on Fridays is a disgraceful, abysmal blunder, and very inconvenient.

It's clean and the staff are really nice. The food is as good as any cafeteria run by a school. The price is fair enough for the food offered. They used to have a lot of options. Since covid hit I don't know if they closed part of it or not. When I went, they didn't have a lot of options for someone like me who cannot eat certain foods. I was still able to find something, but I haven't been back since.

Great service and the food is alright. It gets old after a semester, but unlimited food is nice when you have my metabolism. They're now a lot more conscious about dietary restrictions.
