Gailey’s Breakfast Café on E Walnut Street is everything a great breakfast spot should be. Warm, welcoming, and full of character, it serves consistently excellent breakfast plates paired with really good coffee. The music sets the mood perfectly, making it a place where mornings feel unhurried and comfortable. A true Springfield classic that gets the basics absolutely right and keeps you coming back! Been here many times but every time it feels different.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Gailey's, and I can honestly say we absolutely loved this place! Our server, Shell, was fantastic. She made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in, which really made our experience special. Now, let's talk about the food. I highly recommend trying the skillet—it was delicious! And the French toast? Simply heavenly. Both dishes made for a perfect breakfast feast. The atmosphere of Gailey's is another highlight. It has this wonderful vibe that really feels like you’ve escaped the hustle and bustle of Springfield, which is such a nice touch for a laid-back morning. If you’re looking to treat yourself, definitely take a morning to spoil yourself at Gailey’s. You won’t regret it! And for more about our breakfast adventure, check out RV Plus
Found this little breakfast stop near the square in downtown Springfield. Decent food - loved the arty atmosphere (there is local art for sale on the walls). From what I heard, the original Gailey's was a dinner with a pharmacy in the back. That part of the location is still open; you can sit at the old bar-top and watch them work the griddle. Over the years, the small diner expanded , gradually taking over two other adjacent buildings. So, it has a funky, historic, arty quality. The menu is diverse, but they appear to specialize in skillet breakfasts. There's also some breakfast tacos (that I probably wouldn't order again), omlettes, and a solid selection of coffee and boozy breakfast drinks (along with great tea, hot coco, etc.) I'd recommend this place; it's a cool spot with great s
Unique dining experience in Springfield with a solid variety of fare. Good choice for breakfast in downtown location. Service was mildly friendly and we had to ask for top off for our coffees twice. Waited 20 min for meals on a Friday morning at 8:30, and food came out hot. Convenient place to meet and eat breakfast in downtown Springfield, MO. Been here a couple times and there's a good amount to choose from.
We had brunch here today. The food was good and our server was excellent! They had live music and I enjoyed the atmosphere. My only complaint is that there is not a waiting area. We tried to stand inside and the host asked everyone to go outside. It was cold (in the 30s) and our wait was 20 minutes.
