Frontier Cafe

I’ve been going to Frontier for the past 5 years and was concerned about the recent sale of the business. I don’t love change. Well I can tell you Larry the new owner has taken something good and made it great. I’m so impressed how he has kept the charm of the old and mixed in some new. Looking for to the next 5 years of breakfast.

Met someone there for a short meeting before breakfast and the server was very patient with us until we finished our discussion then happily took our order. Hotcakes were huge and delicious. Definitely give them a try. All the locals do! 😋 I come here for breakfast every chance I get.

It’s tough to find a good breakfast place in Missoula. So we decided to drive to Stevensville and try the Frontier Cafe. So glad we did. First off our server, Tasha, was great. And we loved the dog-friendly patio. Breakfast was very good with thin, flavorful pancakes and good hash browns. We also enjoyed a delicious slice of warmed cherry pie ala mode. Ok, you may say it’s crazy to have pie with breakfast,but life is short. The crust was perfect and the ice cream was rich and creamy. We can’t wait to return.

We waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. We watched other cutomers wait for thier food while regular customers that came in after them received thier food within 10-15 minutes. The food was not great. Not much flavor, country fried steak was very chewy. Waitress didnt ask if we wanted more coffee and just filled our cups, dripping coffee on table. We will not be returning.

Grilled meatloaf and cheese sandwich was fantastic. Tasty take on a patty melt. Potato and bacon soup equally tasty. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere. It's tucked in between a pair of buildings and not easy to see from the street. Watch for the road sign or you'll drive right past it. I'll definitely be back!
