Frankfort Public Library District

This is my first visit to this library. I have studied at Orland Park, Tinley Park, New Lenox, Warrenville, Naperville, Wheaton, and Mokena public libraries in the last 2 years. The Frankfort library has potential and a proper interior designer (or a normie with some interior conscientiousness) would assist in upgrading the facility. The library was quiet during my visit. I came here to study and do work for a few hours and to satisfy my curiousity of "how bad is the noise mentioned by others". This library, based on size, is on the mid to lower end of the ones I've used. My biggest gripe is that the layout of the study areas are awkward in a good portion. Library was so loud. The workers and librarians themselves were the loudest ones. I’ve moved multiple times and it was loud everywhere. Why are the doors off of the reading room ? I feel so completely disrespected by the fact that I come to the library to get peace and quiet and time to do my studies and I simply cannot concentrate because the people at the front desk in the QUIET STUDY AREA are SOOOO loud talking about purses and anything other than books. They aren’t even trying to whisper. It’s a bald guy and a lady with grey curly hair. Multiple people went up there to just converse and laugh and talk. This is not a mingle place. This is a place to study. I will never be coming while also sharing these facts to others.

Great, free programs. Learned a lot of new skills. Smaller size, but great people and selection. Love our library!

This might not be the largest library in the suburbs but the librarians and support staff have to be some of the best. Make sure you check out their website because they are always updating with different events being held at the library. Our family has always enjoyed the kids activities that they host throughout the month. If they do not have a book in stock that you were looking for it is usually made available to you within a few days.

NEVER hold an event there. We were giving a presentation for 30 people that we told and paid for in advance. When we arrived, there were not enough tables and chairs. We asked for more tables and chairs. They said that we didn't request it and the equipment was for another event but locked in the room that we were presenting in mind you. But we asked for room to hold for 30 people for a presentation.They couldn't access how many tables and chairs a group of 30 need? Yet no one ever came in to get the equipment in the storage room for the "other" event. They didn't unlock the audio/visual equipment so we could set up. We had to find them to open the podium to set up our equipment for our presentation. How are we going to steal a podium , table and chairs? Everything was locked up and you h
