Foothills Watershed

I had an unforgettable day at the Foothills Watershed with mountain biking and music. Seth helped me get the lay of the land for the mountain biking trails, easily the best groomed and most fun trails I've been on in the region! They are developing a whole other part of the area too and some of the newer trails were open. Looking forward to going back to explore more. I finished the day with a bluegrass jam with perfect weather that had some great pickers. Charlie, the manager and bartender, is very friendly and welcoming. Pretty neat place, we just went and had some food and a coke (they don’t have beer yet). Wife thought the chicken burrito was just okay but I thought the chorizo burger was amazing! Looks really cool if you mountain bike and we would have went down to the water and let the dog play but a storm came through. 🤷‍♂️ Could use some more detailed signs on how to exit.

We stopped here after our hike at Catawba Falls. It was such a great spot and had a great beer selection. My husband really likes the dunkel and the Vale IPA. He also enjoyed the bbq. He really liked the Carolina Gold sauce as well as the vinegar-based sauce. They had a lot of other drink options (including NA) as well! The service was fantastic and they kept it warm inside when we visited in January. As we were leaving we saw the awesome bike course and it looks like the trail system will be up and running very soon. We can’t wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the giant outside space! I would HIGHLY recommend this stop in Old Fort!

I had an awesome time at the watershed! I’m not sporty spice so I wasn’t sure what to expect considering the emphasis on the bike trails and pump track they have but I was pleasantly surprised to feel right at home in the foothills of the mountains. The food was incredible, so incredible I ordered two meals because I wanted to try everything lol I’d make a recommendation but it was all so good. You can pay $5 to hang out down by the river which is the perfect hangout spot. There’s a pond to cool off in and they have chairs available or you can bring your own. I felt really cozy and at home. Really neat spot perfect for after a hike. I did not do the biking but enjoyed good beer and food. Had a burger that was delightful. It’s spacious and has good vibes. Would definitely return.
