The atmosphere was clean and gentle, with good lighting and comfortable seats; our server was very attentive and we had everything we needed throughout our meal; and the food was delicious! It came hot and steaming, and full of flavor!
Kenzie was amazing and very nice! She got my order right away and the food came out quick and hot. Overall great experience and will be returning and recommending to family and friends!
It’s a good restaurant with good typical American Chinese food. It’s been hit or miss for me though - I liked the Hong Kong, but their battered and fried chicken is just too rich for me, and the fried rice was super oily (came out a solid block the next day from the fridge). However, I got chicken lo mein and it had a GREAT taste. I’d come back for that.
Fongs used to be a great place to eat. The last time I went, all of the prices had been raised close to a dollar. They weren't even sneaky about it. All of the menus have the prices crossed out and replaced with new ones written in sharpie. It's almost like a slap in the face. We used to be able to eat there for under $15 and feel like it was a great value. Now it's usually closer to $20 or more. Also, be aware that if you want your sauce on the side (I hate soggy leftovers), they charge extra for that. This used to be a place that we came to regularly. Now, not so much...
I got a lunch special, #5 mandarin chicken with chow mein as the side. The mandarin chicken was dry and chewy and I didn't realize I was being put on a diet with the chow mein only consisting of celery and onions. I even googled what chow mein is supposed to contain, fried noodles, vegetables and pork. For an "authentic" Chinese restaurant with Chinese owners I expected far better. Panda Express is cheaper, more authentic than Fongs, pays their employees more then $4 an hour and doesn't subject underpaid staff to workers abuse via yelling, insults and taking a portion of their tips, not to mention being paid once a month.
