Flakely Gluten Free BRYN MAWR

A much anticipated arrival!! I stopped into Flakely after they relocated from Manayunk and I’m SO glad they're here. The new space is adorable (you can’t miss their pink striped awning!) I tried a croissant, a donut, and the smoked gouda and chive scones - the texture and flavor of everything were outstanding. The fact that it’s all gluten-free feels secondary because it’s just genuinely delicious. Such a great addition to the neighborhood :)

I ordered a cake for my wedding anniversary and it was amazing! My gluten-eating spouse even remarked how great the flavor and texture was. When I picked up the cake I ended up buying croissants, chocolate babka, and bagels on a whim and I’m so glad I did. I love that I could keep them frozen and pop them in the oven when I was ready. I drove an hour to their shop and it was worth every mile!

If you want incredible gluten free goodies from a completely gluten free kitchen then this is the spot. My faves are the pop tarts, icecream sandos (in summer) and the PB tasty cakes. Honestly, everything I’ve had here has been fantastic. Yes, it is a walk up window. Yes, the parking lot is not the most chic. BUT, you get incredible, hand made gluten free pastries when you leave. I really want to try their cinnamon rolls and have heard their cakes are divine. Definitely have to check it out. I’m obsessed.

Flakely’s chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream was amazing and one of the best gluten free cakes I’ve ever had. I’ve enjoyed their croissants, rolls and other delicious treats in the past. Would love to give them more than 5 stars!

As many people who are gluten free know, it is not easy to find gluten free baked goods that are actually good. Flakely changes that. The sesame bagels, the morning buns (cinnamon buns), the CROISSANT! Gluten. Free. Croissants! The only thing better than the food is the chef herself. She's always so welcoming and so kind. It's truly a joy to have this wonderful woman's talent in the city of Philadelphia.
