Came here on a whim as we were in Fallbrook to buy something. The food was beyond expectations. The Cole slaw and potato salad blew my mind…which is hard to do! The pulled pork was tender and flavor packed. The brisket was tender and melted in my mouth. Will definitely be driving 40 minutes to come back again.
As you see, the Burger is stylish. It has green skirt. But it's too high to bite for me. I can't taste every ingredient at same time. I realized that each ingredient is good, but they don't make harmony. The burger needs leader of their taste. It should be meat. Flies are very good. (BBQ Burger and French flies $19.02)
We ordered the Meat Sampler Combo and got to try out a little of everything - a great option for first time visitors who are unsure of what they want to try. The brisket and sausage were the best, tri-tip and ribs were a little dry. The brisket was sooo juicy and tender. The sausage has a nice spicy after kick to it and is great for any spicy lovers. The Mac and cheese side is really nice as well as it has a bit of butter flavor added to it.
Absolutely wonderful place and I highly recommend coming here if you are in Fallbrook! We wanted burgers after a decent hike and decided to try this out. It is located in an old firehouse and has an eclectic ambiance. They have T-shirts from a bunch of breweries on the walls, pictures of the old firehouse and other cool art. They have tables and booths and everything is super clean. The lady who took our order was very nice, friendly, helpful and checked in on us intermittently, which was nice. We ordered the beef brisket sandwich with a side of beans, the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with a side of fried okra (both sandwiches with slaw inside the sandwich rather than on the side), a beer and a cider. The Nashville Fried chicken was excellent! Fiery, saucy, crunchy, absolutely deliciou
What happened to this place? This used to be the best Brisket you could get in California. So tender, so perfectly seasoned. I am willing to bet that management, ownership, or the grill master has changed. I recently visited this place since its well out of the way but from what I remember well worth it and the Brisket was very tough, over cooked, and highly over seasoned. Super salty. Its so sad. I'm curious if this was just a one off and will update this review when I give it one more shot. However, I am certain that something has changed either new owners, new management, or a new grill master or lack thereof. Very Sad about my loss of the best brisket you could get anywhere local.
