My husband and I had such a wonderful lunch at the Fe Skillet! The menu was broad and it was hard to choose. He had the fried chicken and I had a savory chicken salad sandwich on tender homemade foccacia. Two sides came with the meals, from soup to salads to fries (sweet potato and regular - freshly cut on a mandoline no less). Everything was fresh and tasted so good and so wholesome, while feeling a little decadent at the same time. Ericka is very welcoming and, when I asked her to tell me how she made the best chicken noodle soup I've every had, she sat down with us for a few minutes, as we were the last order up. Fe Skillet is an astonishing find, near an old ghost town in the remote southeastern corner of Arizona you do not expect a five star restaurant. But that is what Fe Skillet is. With meals prepared by Chef Erica the menu changes daily (but the have "Taco Tuesdays") and both days I ate there plates served were as good as I have seen in any restaurant anywhere. The lentil burger was the best I had ever had, moist but firm. The sweet potato fries were the best I I have ever had -- I do not know they could be this good. The hibiscus tea was the most flavorful. The red cabbage coleslaw with a hint of mint and a perfectly balanced vinaigrette was the best ever. What a gem! Delicious, healthy food that is thoughtfully sourced in a welcoming environment. For a small rural town, a place like this is hard to come by. Expect your food to take a bit because it’s made fresh and comes out hot. If you want something closer to fast food, this isn’t it. But if you want to slow down and really enjoy your food, Fe Skillet is an excellent choice.

My husband and I stopped for breakfast on our way out of Cochise Stronghold. He had a omelette and I had the hash with eggs. Most places you need to add some seasoning to get any flavor, but not at Fe Skillet. The seasonings were just right. Erica is an amazing chef and the food was outstanding! 100% fresh is rare in our pre-made society. Erica is the only person working in the morning, so expect a short wait, but it’s worth it!

Please understand that there's no exaggeration when I say I was BLOWN AWAY. I'm a local and this will be the third time the place has changed hands since I've moved back, so the same number of years. I expected what I'm used to- frozen hockey puck patties, fries from the Dollar General, wilted iceberg lettuce and sad, flavorless tomatoes. No, friend. NO NO. They purchase the food in small batches themselves rather than use a distributor, making a lot more work and expense for themselves in order to provide an exceptional dining experience.
