Fat Guys Fresh Deli

We’ve stopped here a few times on our way out of town and really want to like it, but there seem to be ongoing issues with both consistency and customer service. On a previous visit we were told they were low on bacon and wouldn’t serve it, which seemed odd, and today they were completely out of tomatoes. Even more disappointing was the customer service. One of the female employees was very abrasive, from yelling at customers about where to stand yet not being clear where the line goes, yelling people to move out of the way as she took sandwiches to tables, and even one customer looking for the trash. I was driving by after work. It was close to 6:00pm. The lights were on, so I parked and walked to the door. The door was locked and the sign said they closed at 6pm. It was 3 minutes past. I walked back to my car and heard someone call after me. She said I could come in and that they still had their food out. She then smiled and said, "That is if you don't order like ten sandwiches." I joked back that I had a party to attend and would need more than ten! Emily was very kind to let me in and order. She was friendly and shared some of the history of the Deli and that she hoped to be an owner one day. She shared how the soup is made from scratch and that the chef really knows his food. The sandwich was plenty of food, yet since they were closing, she offered me a complimentary cup of soup! T

So I got this place for lunch, me and my wife and I got a sandwich called the silver duck. And my wife got the French dip. I have to say that it was so so delicious. The silver duck had sourdough bread, pastrami, bacon, roast beef, mayo, and alfalfa sprouts. The sandwich was so good the flavors all came together every bite. It also came with a homemade potato salad, and that was delicious. It was the best potato salad I've had in a long time. The flavors of that where fresh, and rich. My wife's sandwich was delicious as well. It came with different bread, and the bouillon sauce was delicious that it came with. My wife also got the jalapeno potato soup and it was very delicious. You could taste the jalapeno in every bite but it wasn't overpowering it was acidic but also very salty and potat

Rambo Rambo Rambo! Treats you like Fam and takes care of your fat guy belly! Would I recommend this to anyone? 100%!! Take time out of your day and drive, 3 locations around Boise metro. Sounds like new ownership in the last few years and may have made some changes, but for the quality of the food and the people it's 108% worth the drive. These guys are 1000% into this place! I have not been disappointed in the five or so times eating there. Phat pig is my favorite! They display a sign, “If you want it your way go to Subway.” I kind of like the policy, reminds me of the old Dutch Oven.
