I feel so lucky to have this bakery in my town. It is so charming, and the croissants are absolutely divine. The brioche with jam is also a delicious breakfast treat. The owners are so kind and dedicated, and there is nothing there I wouldn’t recommend. Go early, though, as it is quite popular, and they do sell out. I cannot recommend Farine enough.
Better «chocolatine» (chocolate croissant) than in France! I’m a Marbleheader, but have been living in France for several years now, not far from the Boulangerie voted “best chocolatine in Béarn”. Farine’s are better. Buttery, flaky, soft, chocolatey… c’est une turie! Mme and Mr Dedieu and their staff are also lovely, and walking past the store smells like home. I’m happy to have them around the corner while visiting family. I would also recommend to take your breakfast to the Hooper garden or Crocker park for a nice spot to eat. Bon apetit!
We're all very fortunate to finally have a bakery in town, and it turns out to be where some of the best croissants I've ever had come from. Even the "famous" shops tucked into southwestern Switzerland or lining the bustling streets of Paris feel distant in comparison to a fresh bite of Farine's "plain" (yet anything but) croissant. Your teeth meet a gentle crunch, yielding to buttery layers as delicate flakes scatter and linger at the corners of your smile. You then find yourself hurrying toward the Landing just down the street, swept along with flocks of neighbors hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa arriving by boat on a misty Saturday morning in early December. That very moment, with warm pastry, cold air, and shared anticipation, is what Marblehead's Farine has given!
We no longer need to wait for summer farmer's markets to get Farine's bread! They've opened a brick & mortar in Marblehead. Laurent's breads, brioche and Vienna breads are as delicious as you remember from last summer AND he's added croissants and coffee too! RUN to 146 Washington St. Marblehead be sure to get there early, today the sold out of EVERYTHING by 9AM! YUM, YUM, YUM!
This is the best spot for treats in the area. The quality is head and shoulders above other nearby options for bread and pastries. The chocolate brioche bun is my favorite! It is a grab and go style bakery with no indoor seating, but there are plenty of benches nearby.
