Family Thai Restaurant

I’ve been in love with Thai food for a while now, especially after watching food and culture documentaries on Netflix. Ever since then, my family and I have been on the hunt for places in Tulsa and around Oklahoma that offer a solid Thai menu and a welcoming, family-friendly experience. Thai is one of those cuisines that, in my opinion, truly shines when it’s prepared by people from Thailand—and this restaurant absolutely lives up to that standard. I personally always look for Tom Yum soup, preferably with shrimp or seafood. For me, that’s the ultimate test, and it’s my favorite dish. My family, on the other hand, leans more toward tofu and chicken options. I ordered the coconut juice, salmon Thai basil (hot spice level), and sticky rice with mango. The coconut juice paired incredibly well with the salmon! I have a really high spice tolerance (according to my Thai friend, a high Thai spice tolerance), and as such the salmon just tasted sweet to me. Next time I will order Thai hot spice level. That aside, the flavors were incredible! I loved the sweet meeting the savory meeting the salty and the hints of basil, surrounded by lots of vegetables (and I love love love vegetables; the more veggies the better). Last but not least, for the sticky rice with mango, it came out warm, sticky rice freshly made, with a full mango and a bed of slightly sweet coconut sauce. The photo is of it. Family Thai is my go to for all things thai in Tulsa. The food is always fresh and I leave full every time. Curries are to die for and every appetizer is delicious. Support local and enjoy yourself!

I absolutely love Family Thai restaurant. The food and service is Exceptional. Right amount of spicy,scrumptious and good portion for price. This is a must go to in Tulsa. I definitely will be back. Can't Thank you enough

Had a mid-week errand that took me downtown this morning, so I leveraged the location to drop into Family Thai on 11th, east of Lewis. TLDR: Amazingly good food, very nice people, decent prices. I arrived shortly after noon and was easily seated. Not a whole lot of customers at that time, so I'm not sure if it as an off day or what. Server brought a menu and a huge carafe of ice water, which was greatly appreciated, along with a cup of soup. I don't know what the soup was, and when I asked I was just told 'vegetable soup', but I'd eat a gallon of the stuff. It was like a cross between an egg drop soup and a miso soup, with tender pieces of what I would guess to be sliced bok choy. Whatever it is, I loved it and it was a great little lead in to the meal. Although I didn't know at the
