Customer Reviews
Wonderful addition to the area. Building is beautiful. We love Cajun food and were so excited to see frog legs on the menu. Was hesitant about the buffalo sauce being on them but it was a really nice flavor combo. Steak was tender with excellent fries and chimichurri sauce. Husband wanted Jumbalaya but it had sold out, opted for the fried catfish and it was a fresh hot generous portion and even better adding some dry Cajun that was with the salt and pepper at the table. Beignets were tasty with a lovely espresso flavored cream on the side. Also tried the elderflower blackberry seltzer (love my seltzers) and ended up buying an entire case. Hope to see you guys stay here for many years to come will be back!
Exchange is one of those rare places that manages to honor its history while feeling fresh and modern. Housed in a beautifully renovated old bank, the restaurant still carries hints of its past with vaulted ceilings, rich architectural details, and a sense of character that you just can’t create from scratch. The result is a very cool, inviting atmosphere that feels both upscale and comfortable. The food is outstanding: flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and clearly crafted with care. Every dish feels like a step above the usual, and the drinks are just as impressive. They were delicious and perfect for pairing with the meal or enjoying on their own. Our server, Lily, was wonderful. Warm, friendly, and attentive, she made the experience even better with her easygoing personality and great
I was born in Oil City but now live in the Philadelphia area. I come back about twice a year and have been looking forward to the Exchange since I learned about it. We met Jeff immediately. You can always tell when someone loves what they do. Jeff gave us a mini tour with a history lesson. We got the dates wrapped in bacon, Seneca street noodles, and the Edmund’s cut. Everything was amazing. For drinks, I got the bloom and the giggle water. The giggle water was a recommendation by the waitress and I was shocked to find that I loved it. We will 100% be back on our next trip and I’m so glad to see Oil City making a comeback.
I was reluctant about going because of the Cajun twist, how ever it turned out to be amazing. The frog legs were small but full flavor, we tried it plain. The smoked wings in buffalo flavor were amazing. I would order those as meal they were packed full of flavor. The smash burger was two patties with lettuce, tomato, crispy onions, added bacon and cheddar cheese with a pickle on top. The shrimp and grits with peppers and onions some of the best I have ever tasted. I was looking forward to the catfish but they ran out, so pulled pork po boy with coleslaw on a bun was so tasty. Enjoyed the old fashion, and the getaway driver. The elderflower seltzer is mild and refreshing. And the jet lag relief pale ale is a popular choice making you want to take some home. Jeff and Helena were amazing. We were blown away when we ate the food and deserts, they were delicious and fairly priced. It’s a hidden gem in Oil City for sure. We came from Ohio, and almost want to go back to Oil City just for the Exchange Restaurant experience. Ask For Jeff and a Historical tour while at the restaurant as well.
