European Bakery

This is a beautiful bakery. The folks working there always greet me with a smile. The assortment of treats is incredible. It’s tough to choose! They also make the best cakes! So many choices and each one is made with great care and gourmet ingredients. Today a bought a tiramisu whoopie pie. It was a work of art and delicious! Easily a dessert for two!

I ordered the birthday cake for my mom's eightieth birthday party from here. It was absolutely delicious. I got the amaretto torte. It's not too sweet, and has a lovely texture. In addition, we picked up several baked goods which were all really yummy... Including a pumpkin croissant and a chocolate croissant and an apple turnover and something cinnamon. Everything was fresh and tasty and baked to perfection.

This post is to help others like me that were wondering whether worth the drive. Overall you can tell quality ingredients and care were used. But if you are comparing their eclairs to an authentic french eclaire you will be very disappointed. Overall pastries were too sweet as well , so although the name states "european" bakery, it is quite americanized and not European. I recommend edelweiss in biddeford for swiss pastries that are truly european in style. Although the staff at european bakery and the ambiance was welcoming and looked promising..unfortunately the pastries fall short other than the savory croissant as I thought it was quite tasty and was not overburdened with sugar.

I get some thing for my wife whenever passing through. They have a very high average of excellent pastries. And she loves them. Eclair, fruit tart, cream horn not so much on the lemon tart.

Very friendly staff & amazing pastries. My fiancé & I both got chocolate croissants & they were the best we’ve had. Will definitely be going back if we are ever in the area again!
