Estiatorio Plaka

This was the second time dining at Plaka, and my friend and I decided to come try out restaurant week. Between the both of us, we wanted to try the mussels and the dips (The tzatziki is fantastic!) and shared the moussaka and crabcake. Dessert was to die for. Everything exceeded our expectations, including the service! One of the best parts of the meal was having Lynn as the server, she was one of the best servers we’ve had and was attentive, knowledgeable, and personal - we hope to come back soon and have her as our server again!

My bride decided she wanted to check this place out for her birthday dinner and we went with our two daughters. Parking is easy if the bank across the street is closed. Nice corner spot for this relatively new addition to the area. The atmosphere is delightful-> fresh and clean with a bakery section and restaurant/bar section. Our server was a beautiful young Greek girl, (Ria?) that was with us every step of the way. We started with the Octopus, Calamari and Shrimp appetizers. The presentation was beautiful. The octopus was delicious, perhaps a bit on the tough side but the garnish was terrific. We expected more from the calamari.. the breading was too thick for what we have come to expect from true Mediterranean calamari. The shrimp was to die for with a sauce with whipped feta !

This was the best dining experience that I've had in a long time in Baltimore. The food was impeccable! I had the short ribs bechamel with gemelli pasta. It could have fed two people! Generous portions of on beef, so tender and juicy. Usually I find this cut too fatty, but it was perfect! It had the creamiest bechamel sauce that melted well with the juices from the meat. The pasta was perfectly cooked too! They gave a delicious, warm bread basket with rosemary and olive oil when we arrived and it went very well with the haloumi cheese and tomatoes. Excellent wine list along with cocktails. My husband got the crab cake. The chef came by to see how we liked the food, and he shared that the recipe was from G&M. Went last night for my birthday and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is beautifully lit, clean and comfortable. The service (I believe our servers name was Priya?) was fantastic. I have severe allergy to alcohol which usually drastically reduces my options because kitchens are not willing or are unable to accommodate but they said they can make anything safe so my parents and shared everything! We loved it all. We ordered baked feta in phyllo with honey and sesame seeds, calamari with squid ink mayo, lamb chops (they did forget the side but so did we because we were too busy enjoying the rest of the food), seafood linguini and moussaka. I was working with Estiatorio Plaka to plan a private dinner event. I do not have much experience but their catering director Antonia (Toni) and the entire team was incredibly patient, kind and professional with all of my questions throughout the process -- Toni really makes sure you are all good to go in terms of venue and food. The venue itself is gorgeous with a lot of natural lighting even before decorations are all set up. They have two options for rooms upstairs depending on the size of your party. Parking is also free in a nearby lot just across the street. The bakery on the main floor which has a lot of delicious options as well. Highly recommend working with this team to plan a private event, reception, or gathering. This team genuinely wants to see your events come to life and
