El Zarape Mexican Restaurant

This place had a amazing atmosphere and wonderful staff. I was a little worried at first cause when I tasted the salsa and chips the salsa was sweet. So I added some of their salsa it made it better. And I ordered the taco and beef enchilada it was very favorful. I would go back and eat there.

I've eaten here all my life and I compare every mexican restaurant I eat at on a scale of 0 - El Zarape.

In our opinion, this is the best restaurant in town. We have been dining at this location for years, and if they ever close, we will stop eating Mexican food. They have wonderful service, fantastic food, and a family-friendly atmosphere. El Zarape's is usually packed, but the wait is definitely worth it.

Service was fast, cheese enchilada and beans were good, and overall meal was decent. The salsa tasted like tomato puree and I needed to request the hot salsa just to taste any heat, then mixed the rice with salsa for a bit more flavor. The beef soft toco had some pink meat and wasn't as good as the steak soft toco I've had here before.

This is one of the place I miss about Tahlequah the most! (Aside from family and some friends...) Mom and I were back in the area a couple of months ago, and this is the place we HAD to go to. The chips are thin and crispy, the salsa is great! We had the chicken soup - and it was fantastic as usual! Service was good, people were helpful and friendly - the same family has had this place for YEARS. If you're a local, you already know it's great - if you're passing through, give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
