EL REY MEXICAN RESTAURANT

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a great experience here. The food was seriously delicious — everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The service was awesome too; everyone was super friendly and checked on us just the right amount. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing, perfect for hanging out and enjoying a good meal. I also loved how quickly everything came out without feeling rushed. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, which made the whole visit even better. Overall, it just felt like one of those spots you can count on for a consistently great time. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend to others!

Didn't expect much, but was blown away by how good the shrimp was. I eat shrimp everywhere I go and that was the best I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned, fully cooked with a hint of butter in the after taste!!!

The service was excellent, and the margaritas were tasty. The chile relleno was stuffed with what apparently was runny American cheese, which was not correct at all. 2.5 stars, unfortunately.

As a local, the old la luz restaurant was a ‘go to’. Great authentic food at good prices. The new El Rey has thrown that out the window. The food is just ok. Not horrible but not great. It is, however, priced so high that you’re expecting something better. It’s just your standard taco and beans. The drinks are even more expensive. They put no drink prices in the menu for a reason. The beer prices are on par with the tourist traps like the hangout or lulus but without the view or ambiance. Not what you’d expect from a standard Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. I’m not a huge margarita guy but my friends that are didn’t finish theirs. Couldn’t taste any tequila and the mix was just bad. We’ve tried to give this place every chance.
