PHO-MO Asian kitchen & grill gulf shores

How did I not hear of this place sooner? I’ve been everywhere and this is the best Asian food I’ve had in my life. In Alabama lol! Pho - That broth was insane! Best broth I’ve ever tasted. We added the fresh crisp sprouts and a squeeze of lime that they serve on the side. General tso’s (substitute lo mein) - Delicious! Big chunks of chicken meat, not fried dough like you get at other places. The reduced sauce on the chicken and noodles with onion and peppers was excellent. We also ordered spring rolls and dumplings which were also excellent. All this was shared between 2 people and we had plenty leftover. Also their health department score was a 100 which I haven’t seen at many restaurants. 100% will be coming back! Great job Pho-Mo!

I forgot to take pictures of other dishes. Their broth was VERY good! I am so glad we have very good pho place in Baldwin county! Same owner who started Poke Bowl place, in Fairhope and Daphene. I was so happy to see the owner again! Great food and great service!

Eating and enjoying a bowl of pho is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve tried pho at well over 140 places and make it a point to seek out the best spot whenever I travel, so I come in with a good sense of what to expect. The broth had a pleasant flavor overall, though I personally found it a bit lighter on some of the traditional notes like star anise. Where the experience fell short for me was with the accompaniments. The bean sprouts and basil did not appear fresh. The sprouts were extremely soft and had a slimy texture, which made me uncomfortable using them. I asked if there were fresh ones available and was told there were not, so I chose not to add them to my bowl. My kids had two different kinds of pho and both said they were great. The egg rolls were good. The Vietnamese coffee was amazing. My in-laws really like the soup that came with the grilled chicken and steamed rice. The General Tao’s chicken was good. They were busy, so service was a little slow with refilling drinks, and they ran out of grilled chicken, so my MIL had to order orange chicken instead, but she still liked that just fine. The location is kind of small, and felt a little cramped when they got busier. But the food was good, and if you like pho, you’ll be happy with it here. The menu is a bit strange to have Vietnamese, Chinese and burgers as options. I’d really have liked some bahn mi options at a Vietnamese restaurant instead of hamburgers, but that’s just my humble opinion.

I’m from Houston, where we have every type of delicious food. This was be far the best Pho I’ve had. Had the beef and the broth had so much depth of flavor. The restaurant is very unassuming and simple but if you want the best Pho, you must stop by and you will not regret it.
