El Pilar Restaurante

Driving through Española, a town I believe boasts some of the state's best Northern New Mexican cuisine, I was searching for a new lunch spot. I consulted Google Maps reviews to help make my decision, and El Pilar Restaurant emerged as a top choice. Arriving just before 11 AM, I considered the already full parking lot a promising sign. Upon entering I was struck by the hand painted mural that told the story of El Pilar’s journey from food truck to it’s current location off of South Riverside drive. Having talk with Sonya who had said with pride that El Pilar Restaurant had been at this location for over four years. Delicious and authentic New Mexican food! Its just like eating a home cooked meal. Staff went above and beyond to made sure we got our order even with short notice. I will definitely be back! A must try in Espanola!

Fantastic food! Comfortable atmosphere. The service was superb! We were just passing through and if we do again, this is where we will go. My boyfriend said this was the best breakfast burrito he has ever had. I ordered the Trio Enchiladas to try out the variety. I could not decide which was the best. They all were! The red and green was sooo good too.

Building doesn't look like much from outside but inside is a different story. Painted nicely with murals on walls and floors shiny and clean. Very good for gluten free options. Food was cooked to order and fresh. Guacamole was very tasty. Servi e was superb in this little family jewel.

We ate lunch today and I had the Mexican Tortilla Burger smothered it had to be one of the best I've ever had. The flavors and taste were perfect. I will definitely be going back for more.
