El Maya Mexican Cuisine Alva

The El Maya enchiladas are top notch! The chips and salsa tasted authentic and the whole dining experience is a 5 star experience for me.

Stopped into El Maya for a quick lunch while traveling from out of town. Staff was nice. Ordered the chicken chimichanga based on staff recommendation. The food was okay, There was plenty of chicken inside the chimichanga and lots of cheese dip on top. Chips and salsa were plenty.

Service was great and friendly. But the food is a joke, who in there right mind would call that Mexican food. As I am half Mexican and grow up eating a lot of Mexican food, this place dose not represent or high light Mexican food at all I ordered the combo plate, you would think that would come with rice and beans oh no didn't get any of that. For the price it costed for that combo was ridiculous almost 12 dollars for what nothing. Then enchiladas had no cheese at all and want to charge an extra 1.29 for cheese the burrito same, and the tamale so dry like it's been sitting in a freezer the reheated and left under a heat lamp. Then cover it all in red sauce lol more like open a can of tomato sauce and dump it over the everything and then pop it in the over for 30 sec to heat it not hot at a

I ordered the molcajete guanajuato and It blew my mind!!! Real savory and full of juices! Not to mention that the staff were akin to like your own personal waiter, it's like they read my mind! Totally awesome and I would recommend anyone to stop on by if you're ever in the area. (Also the town is gorgeous!)
