El Jefe'

Aberdeen is my hometown, and I spend time there visiting family and working on my land. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate El Jefe because reliable, plant-based meal options can be limited in town. When I want something beyond the usual fast-food choices, this is the place I think of. The staff has always been accommodating with vegan enchiladas, plant-based fajitas loaded with vegetables, and hearty bean burritos that feel like real, home-style meals. It’s one of those spots I trust when I’m in town for a few days and want to eat well, feel nourished, and keep moving the next day. Friendly service and consistency keep it on my short list every time.

During my recent dining experience, I encountered several issues. Firstly, I discovered hair in my food, which was a concerning matter. Secondly, the customer service provided was very bad. Despite my request for a refund, the staff refused to comply and persistently attempted to serve me additional food.

I went here every day for lunch while in town working. They make the BEST chimechanga I've ever had, and I try that dish at every Mexican place I go to. I've been to over 100 different places all across the country, and so far, no one beats their dish! If I'm ever heading through Mississippi again I will make it a point to stop by just for that! *chef's kiss*

The last time I was there, none of the restrooms were working. There's not enough servers. The frozen margarita machine has been out of order for months. The list goes on and on, but unfortunately it's the only "set down" restaurant in town that serves adult beverages. The city wants the establishment there but a lot of changes need to be made.

Food was excellent and the service was great. I highly recommend this place.
