After tasting the ceviche de pescado, seco de carne, aji de gallina, papa rellena, etc., this truck will take you back to Peru. It's legit! It is most similar to Peruvian ceviche. Their menu changes every week, so I suggest checking out their Instagram page (elcausafoodtruck) and plan accordingly. You can also call ahead and place your order! Makes crossing the bridge worthwhile!
Staff was very friendly, we liked the Lomo Saltado, the flavor was good, tender meat and great white rice and seasoning. We think the sauces were plain. The Tallarines verdes milanesa was good, the noodles were a little over cooked, papa a la Huancaina was good. Prices a reasonable. We will come back to try more dishes.
I absolutely love this place. Peruvian authentic food is 💯! The owners are wonderful and very attentive. I’m never disappointed! They have an IG and post what their menu of the day is. The most important thing is the flavor, it’s mouth watering 🤤
First time trying Peruvian food, and I was not disappointed! I went with two friends and they gave me a heads up on what was what. This truck serves different dishes depending on the day, and some items can be limited. I got the chicken al hormo (baked chicken with rice, and a vegetable salad mix), which seemed like something that was a safe choice for a first timer. The chicken was cooked to perfection with a great flavor. The rice had a nice amount of seasoning, which complimented the chicken perfectly! It was a mix of savory and spicy. The vegetable mix was colored pinkish from the beets and was on the sweeter side. I ate most of the plate very quickly and washed it down with an Inca Kola (pineapple tasting cola). My friends let me try some of their dishes and I was happy with the plate
The staff provides excellent service, demonstrating a high level of friendliness and helpfulness. The ceviche was exceptional, and the arroz chaufa was also very well-received. Considering the quality of the cuisine and the competitive pricing relative to other Peruvian restaurants in the Bay Area, a visit is highly recommended.
