Eds Grill

It had been at least four years since I was last there. A lot has changed with the hot dog. To start with I think it cost $3.47 for one. Crazy in my opinion. Before I even opened it I could tell a difference. Once I opened it I ate the first one looking at it as I ate it. This lead to me taking the other one apart. This hotdog was to be all the way with slaw. As pulled it apart I did not notice and mustard or ketchup. Then I separated the contents. There may have been a teaspoon of chili and maybe a tablespoon of slaw. If i was lucky. Hotdog could just have well been nuked in the microwave for the was it tasted. I’m rarely in Whiteville during the day to be able to go anywhere. I was looking forward to being in town and grabbing a bite to eat at Ed’s. Let’s start with service. Service to me personally was ehh. Nothing special but not bad. However, there was a young girl working who seemed to be new. There was a particular employee who was extremely rude to her. The girl was trying her hardest - that was apparent. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing or hearing. I was getting ready to say something when my food came out. I explained that the young girl was doing a great job and how extremely rude the other worker was being to her. (With no care who heard her) Food? Mediocre at best. The hot dogs were just ok. Nothing special. Fries were good. Our server was very friendly. The food was overpriced for what you get. The restaurant itself was clean and hospitable.

It's a decent place to get a burger and hot dog with fries. The chili slaw dog is great. Very small but good. They did forget my fries but I don't think they understood my husband.

Best burgers ever. I ordered a cheeseburger all-the-way with coleslaw and it was superb, a must have if you are in the area. They also have amazing sweet tea and great service. Very nice local diner.
