Edison is one of my favorite restaurants on James Island, and our Valentine’s Day dinner reminded me exactly why. We went for the prix fixe menu, and every course was outstanding. The she crab soup was rich and perfectly seasoned, and the escargot was beautifully prepared. Our salads — kale and avocado — were fresh, bright, and balanced. For entrées, the London broil was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp and lobster gnocchi was decadent without being heavy. We finished with a peach tart and a chocolate sachertorte, both delicious and thoughtfully plated. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Edison consistently delivers a special dining experience, and this Valentine’s menu was truly memorable. Highly recommend!
This is a great date night spot and much closer than going downtown (and far leas traffic). We made a family night of it and from the moment we walked through the door we had a great experience. The brussel sprouts were a great starter and the steak frites hit the spot and I had leftover steak for breakfast the next day. My daughter loved the Edison bulb for dessert and I managed to find room for some cheesecake. The atmosphere and ambiance is cozy without being pretentious, despite the upscale food and wines. Definitely give them a shot if you’re in the area.
I think they need to up the game to compete in the Charleston market. My pasta was perfectly cooked but the dish was not as hot as I would have liked. It was average when I had hoped for some interesting flavors. There needs to be some type of acoustic tiles as the sound reverberates. I was hoping to bring friends, but could only secure a reservation for 2 on resy but upon arrival and through our meal at 8:15, tables were empty. Prices are right. Service is excellent. Everyone was super nice. Maybe try some of the more asian slanted dishes next time.
Great upscale neighborhood vibe. Service is amazing! Appetizers and entrees were phenomenal. Highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates and chicken & waffle dish. The desserts were okay, for as outstanding and flavorful as the apps and entrees were, the desserts were not as flavorful. Blander without much of a flavor profile and depth. I would still highly recommend Edison's tho, for the apps, entrees and atmosphere.
The food was fantastic. I loved the cavatappi with shrimp and my husband had the Pho chicken soup and curry meatballs with risotto and said both were incredible. The chocolate “bulb” and pear tart desserts were both amazing!
