Echate Authentic Mexican Antojitos

We were really excited to try this place given reviews. Outside seating only. Great sounding menu. The staff was very helpful & friendly but the food was just ehhh. It was well plated. But just not very flavorful & not super fresh tasting as you would expect from a food truck. Rice was good. The salsa was the best part. Bummed it wasn’t better.

Stopped at Echate Mexican roadside stand on Main Street in Quartzsite yesterday, and it absolutely hit the spot. I tried three tacos—birria, carnitas, and fish—and every one of them tasted fresh and were made to order. The homemade chips and mild salsas (red=Guajillo and green= tomatillo) were perfect, and their hibiscus drink was clean, bright, and delicious. The two owners, both originally from LA, were warm and welcoming. The outdoor eating area felt authentically Mexican, and I even snapped a picture with their burro décor. Fresh ingredients, great hospitality, and food worth the wait. I’ll definitely be back.

I stopped by after a recommendation from a guy at the laundromat down the street and I am so glad I did. The food & service was excellent! I've been back three times and brought a friend and recommended Echate to my neighbors here in La Posa South LTVA. I love Mexican food and this restaurant has the best I've ever tasted. David & Estaban are the best!

I had been to Echate previously, but only had birria tacos. I wanted to try a few other things before reviewing. We arrived at 11:55. We waited 10 minutes to place our order. I ordered the 3-taco combo plate with chicken tinga, carnitas, and birria; it comes with beans & rice. David asked if I wanted the queso with the birria, & I declined (too much dairy for me). He then said the rice was still going to be 15 minutes, & he didn’t know if it would be ready in time. I asked if the rice wasn’t ready in time, could I have double beans (yes). Chicken Tinga and Adovada burritos are fantastic. Chips are extra crispy, salsa are on point. Roadside diner with shared, outdoor seating. Will definitely return.
