I come to this area at least twice a year and never heard of his place. I was grateful to find this hidden gem! The owner was top notch, friendly, and damn good at his job! Perfect hospitality. And the food was beyond flavorful. The tavern knots were my favorite! Perfect comfortable decor too. Will definitely return. Highly recommended 👌
Used to come here when it was the Sussex inn.the new owners are doing a great job keeping everything great. The clam chowder was fresh and homemade wich was excellent. The cheese steak was perfect. The chicken parm was huge and cooked perfectly.plenty of cocktails.our server was very nice and friendly.we will be back
This tiny whiskey glass was a $12 margarita… for that size. We were served one drink and were never asked if we wanted another until we were already getting ready to leave. Meanwhile, our server checked on the booth next to us multiple times for drink refills. The service just wasn’t great. The food is never hot and comes out room temperature, like it’s been sitting. And the overpriced drinks that don’t match the size are extremely disappointing. It’s a shame, because we used to enjoy coming here. But charging $12 for basically a shot of margarita and making us feel nonexistent… It’s a no for us.
This is a consistantly good place for bar food and typical American tavern cuisine. The prices are fair and the service is good. Seating is challenging for older or movement impaird folks because of it's old roadside inn style - which also makes it look really cool. Only the modern lottery machine doesn't seem to fit the decor. We've returned many times.
Food is good, portions small considering they were dinner entre and wait was long. Prime rib was mostly fat. Service was excellent, and cordial atmosphere.
