Dyer-Schererville Branch of the Lake County Public Library

My daughter and I love love love this place!!!Very welcoming and pleasant environment and the librarians are sooo nice and helpful! They have comfy chairs to sit back in to read and relax with TONS of reading options and diverse authors. And for the children, they having learning computers with programs like ABC Mouse that offered at no cost! There's also a huge area of books just for them at every reading level. The best part, that originally drew us in, was the summer programs they have. Today my daughter learned how to make ice cream and next week she'll learn how to make crayons! You can register on their website but PLEASE register ASAP because they fill up fast! We also love the summer reading challenge which awards them for the number of hours spent reading, a great way to increase

This is such a lovely library. We had multiple terrible experiences at the Munster Library so we started driving extra to come here and it’s definitely worth it. The workers are all friendly and they do so many extras for kids to make them excited to come and find new books. 5 stars, Dyer Library staff, thanks for putting in the extra effort

Excellent staff. Great facility.

Moved here from Valparaiso, this library is *fine* but it’s really underwhelming and every time I look up a book I want to read they don’t have it. The children’s area is lacking and needs something more to it. The Valparaiso one has at-least a train table for little ones to utilize. Also not opening until 10am has been inconvenient quite a few times already. The staff was very helpful though when I first moved here and switched over my cards, and any time I’ve needed help they were there to find what I needed.

We have been patrons/volunteers/friends with this branch of Lake county library for almost a decade now. The library staff is always smiling, welcoming, helpful and are our friends for life! My boys have participated in many kids/teens activities and have enjoyed most of the programs this Library offers. Sometimes when we are in the waitlist, they make every attempt to accommodate the kids. My boys and I love visiting this library. This library literally has been part of my kids' learning curve and we thank each and everyone of the staff from the bottom of our hearts!!
