Dugan Hollow Retreats - Log Cabin & Suites

This cabin is beautiful. The rooms are comfortably decorated and the scenery took our breath away. Add to that the jacuzzi and streaming TV and you have the recipe for a perfect weekend. The drive out to Dugan Hollow is a curvy country road and not necessarily for the faint of heart. Remember, this part of Indiana is home to Clifty Falls. The cabin bedrooms are both upstairs, tucked under the eaves of the roof. The stairs are irregular and you need to watch your head walking up (and on the eaves). To be honest, though, the irregularities forced me to be more present in the stay (i.e., stop looking at my phone). We didn't try the fireplace, but loved that the option was there. And, hopefully, we'll be back in cooler weather.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this lovely cabin nestled in the woods in Madison, Indiana for 3 days in December. The owner was very responsive and helped us to feel right at home when we arrived. The cabin has 2 loft-style bedrooms (visit here only if you are very comfortable with steps) and sleeps 6 (but only 6 if they're very comfortable with one another-- the bedrooms don't have walls on all sides due to being lofts...) So know who you're going with. :) ||We fully enjoyed using the well-stocked kitchen (I was so thankful to find a coffee maker and even filters!) The only food-stuff provided is salt and pepper, so be prepared to bring all of the foodstuff you'll need for cooking (if you're planning to cook.)||The jetted tub is GIGANTIC and is supervised by Sharky the Hammerhead Shark

We stayed at the cabin at Dugan Hollow over Christmas. The cabin was decorated for the holiday, making it a very special experience. My teenage boys loved the place - commenting repeatedly on how cute it was. We used the fireplace - nothing like a real fire on Christmas! - the TV, the grand piano and just about everything in the kitchen. The boys even tried out the jacuzzi tub! We loved the books and spent some time working on a puzzle. It was lovely - peaceful and rustic. (We agreed that someone with mobility challenges might struggle with the stairs. It took a bit to get used to without mobility issues, but added to the charm.)

We had a wonderful experience at the lovely, peaceful and comfortable Sugar Berry suite. We enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the country, just minutes from historic downtown Madison. Michelle and Don (and Dugan the barn cat) were exceptionally kind and responsive hosts! We'd love to go back, and highly recommend Dugan Hollow Retreats for anyone visiting the Madison area.

The log cabin was truly a retreat destination. We were looking for a peaceful and remote location and found it here, still only a short drive to Madison. The cabin has all the amenities of home and the atmosphere of a rustic, remote place of solitude. The deck view was beautiful with the valley and trees along with the occational deer and squirrel. The quiet allowed us to truly enjoy are weekend of reflection and privacy.
