Customer Reviews
We hadn’t been to this restaurant in many years, so we were pleasantly surprised when we came back and saw the renovations inside. The space has been updated and has a really cool vibe while still feeling comfortable and welcoming. Since it’s a seafood restaurant, we were hoping for fresh seafood—and it definitely delivered. We ordered the halibut, and the kids had fish and chips and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were freshly made in-house and were delicious. The fish and chips were excellent, and the halibut was absolutely out of this world. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The restaurant also has a great layout. There’s seating in the main dining area when you walk in, additional seating upstairs, and during the summer you can sit outside right on the water, which make
Dry Dock Seafood Tavern in Portland, Maine is an absolute must-visit. The food was incredible—fresh, perfectly prepared, and exactly what you hope for when dining on the coast. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. What truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Kevin. He was amazing from start to finish—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. His food recommendations were spot-on, and every suggestion he made turned out to be a perfect choice. You could tell he really knew the menu and cared about making sure we had a great experience. Between the outstanding seafood, welcoming atmosphere, and Kevin’s top-notch service, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Portland. We’ll absolutely be back and will be asking for Kevin again! I w
I have been to Dry Dock a couple of times now, and I’m a big fan! Initially, I had some reservations (as usual when a new place opens up in Portland). Is it going to be a tourist trap?! Is the food going to be mediocre?! Based on my experience, the answer is no to both. The food has been incredible, the staff exceptional, and the space impressive. It’s so expansive — two whole floors, ocean views, Commercial Street views, bar seating… there’s something for everyone. Unlike its sister restaurant, Luke’s Lobster, Dry Dock doesn’t seem to get as packed (which I absolutely love), although that may change during the summer. We’ve tried a lot of their menu and found everything quite delicious. Their burger is one of my husband’s favorites in town. Their chorizo soup and chowder are both to die
What a fantastic place. We sat on the upstairs deck overlooking the bay. Stella was a great waitress. She helped us pick two local IPA beers to compliment our lunch. She also very enthusiasticly described the chefs special appetizer of skewarded Swordfish belly. It was absolutely worth the praise she gave it. We chose the lobster roll and fries for the main dish. Best we have ever had! There was a very large portion of lobster that was cooked perfectly and the belted was buttered and toasted. it was truly amazing! We hope to come back and have Stella help us with our next selection.
We were visiting from NYC and made Dry Dock our first stop and it did NOT disappoint!. We loved everything from the service, to the food , and even the drinks . We thought cape cod had the best seafood but correction it is here . The lobster roll was soft , buttery , packed and balanced and stole the show. Special shout out to our waiter , Chris for great recommendations of what to get and the best tour spots in Maine. DRY DOCK will most definitely being seeing us again!
