Draper Library

I visit this library from time to time looking for a quiet place to study, but unfortunately it’s been anything but quiet. The staff is very nice and helpful, and the library itself is geared mostly toward children’s books (so the noise level makes sense). However, you’d expect there to be study rooms available to help reduce the noise for students who need a focused environment. To the disappointment of many of us, there is only one study room, and it’s booked almost all the time. It would be a huge improvement if the library added more study spaces or designated a quieter area for students or for anyone needing a quiet space.

The Draper library isn't one of your old-school libraries housing tight, narrow rows of books and boring colorless architecture. The Draper library is a stunning achievement of architectural beauty and pragmatic library layout design. As one combs through the well-spaced book shelves finding that perfect read, a glance skyward rewards the peruser with massive circular lights of white and blue that resemble the ideal summer day. The lights hang down from the ultra-high ceiling, seemingly unconnected to anything except the fertile mind of the dreamer-reader whose life is not anchored but freed from all cares and concerns. The library is ensconced right in the beautiful historic part of Draper and there is a senior citizens acitivity center on the same property as well as the Draper Chamber

When Nosiness Masquerades as Concern I visited the Draper Public Library book sale --The selection was decent, the prices perfect, and the proceeds support a worthy institution. But my experience took a sour turn thanks to an unsolicited lecture from a meddlesome individual whose "concern" felt more like a personal vendetta than genuine advocacy. As I browsed and selected a stack of books (with every intention of reselling them, as one does in a free market), a woman—I'm still unclear if she was a staff member or just an overzealous patron—swooped in behind me with an attitude. In a tone dripping with disdain, she demanded to know if I was "really going to purchase these books and turn around and sell them." When I politely confirmed, she escalated to declaring it "sad" that I was "taking

Library looks great, inside and out. Recommend reserving your item(s) - it has high traffic and, in my experience, many items are checked out already. Drop-off book return is very easy to go through and be back on your way. Self checkout stations available. The inside has great lighting for reading.

My favorite library in the area. They have a very good selection of books for all ages. A great kids program and many activities for the family.
