Dowds Catfish & BBQ

After hearing this Lebanon staple had new owners; always a fan of the catfish, my husband wanted to make sure the catfish was the same. He was not disappointed. Not a single bite of the 6 pc dinner was left. He commented that he could have eaten at least 4 more pieces! I had the sliced brisket combo and chose cheesy corn and baked potato for my sides. The brisket was a good sized portion, fork tender and had a great smoke flavor. All the food was served hot. The chocolate pie and sticky bun were very good. Excellent and attentive service. Don't be afraid to stop in. You won't be disappointed!

New owner is cullinary graduate, has improved the quality of the BBQ! Smoked turkey, pork, and ribs where excellent! If your hungry the BBQ nachos portion size is very generous!

Prices not accurate to the website or even the printed menu! Website also says kids under 12 get a free meal on Wednesday ($6 value) but they refused to honor that because "the old owner controlls the website." While I admit the food was tasty, it was drastically lacking in quantity, especially for the price. I literally scraped my entire sandwich's worth of filling onto half the bread roll and cut off the excess bread.

Family took me here for my birthday. The place was basically dead. We sat 30 minutes waiting on appetizer. Another large table came in. They got their whole order and ate 25 minutes after we got appetizers. We continued to wait and got busy service. The drink refills was a joke as they took 30 minutes to refill after asking what we needed. We only saw our 2 waitresses 3 times the whole time we was there. We will probably never return. Wasted almost 3 hours on cold food and horrible service. Do not reccomend.

Food was ok, not nearly good as I had hoped based on the reviews. Prices online don't match in house. Bacon cheddar burger has gone from 12.99 to 14.99, a lot of other meal prices have gone up a dollar or two also. Items not available anymore, just a bunch of that kind of stuff. Kids eat free on Wed promo that is listed online is no longer honored. Apparently the former owner hasn't passed the website info to the new owner. Hopefully they can get all the change of ownership stuff figured out. Might give them a second chance, depends on the other local BBQ joints.
