Dos Amigos

Just moved here to Elgin about 2 years now, tried many of the Mexican food establishments, with no regrets! A friend of mine told me about this place, Dos Amigos, and I told him I seen it but just drive by. Well yesterday I went out to run errands and was again driving by, then decided to try it. There was a line of people and about 8 cars in the parking lot. First I only ordered 1 fajita taco, just to give it a go. OMG! It was amazing! Meat was tender, flavorful, and the salsa, hit the spot! Well I had to prefer more! 2 beef and 2 chicken tacos later, my belly was satisfied! Well I’m back for more today, Sunday. This time I had the pork carnitas! Even better! So if you are ever in Elgin, TX check out this place on the weekends! They will not fail you! Enjoy!

The carnitas (only available on Sunday) is by far the best thing on the menu. At $4 per taco I wont be back no matter how good they are! However the pork is definitely fresh off the grill, smoky and moist and crunchy on the edges. The salsa and beans are also very delicious. The high price limits me to 3 stars

This weekend only place is fast and delicious! The chicken fajita had wood smoke flavor, the pork are stashed were cooked to perfection, and even the sausage wrap was better than expected. The slave was also on point.

Chicken was great! Not sure what’s going on with the cheese. Couldn’t place a to go order because they wouldn’t answer the phone. Chicken quesadilla for $10?

This place has been here for a long time. When you get out of your vehicle and you smell the fresh meat cooking, you cant help but get hungry. The servers are extremely nice, My favorite is the chicken taco which melts in your mouth. It's only open on Saturday and Sunday, so it gives you something to look forward to during the week.
