Doe Brothers Restaurant

While visiting my cousins in Phillipsburg, they took me to Doe Brothers restaurant for lunch. I loved this charming place as soon as I walked in! It’s located in a very old building, so naturally it had to have a soda fountain, right? It was perfect! We were seated right away, but by the time we left, the place was filled. I ordered a Bison cheeseburger with french fries. There was a small charge to add lettuce and tomato but they forgot to add lettuce on mine. The tomato, however, was fresh and delicious and the french fries had a wonderful texture and flavor. I didn’t have any onion rings, but they looked as good as the french fries tasted. We decided to swing into Philipsburg after spending the weekend at Georgetown lake and landed at Doe Brothers for lunch. I couldn’t have been happier with our experience and food. We got pizzas, the Tuscan sandwich and pickle fries. Everything was flavorful and really good. The Tuscan sandwich took the cake though, it was delicious. We were served by the owner who was on top of everything and very kind. We’re a laid back group and loved the atmosphere.

Great place to grab some lunch. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Love the soda fountain drinks. Ordered an Elk burger and Bison burger. Both were cooked to perfection. Have to say, liked the taste of the Bison burger over the elk. We had Huckleberry cream soda and a phosphate as well.

Unfortunate experience at Doe’s. My son didn’t like the burger and barely took one bite. When it was brought up to the only waiter, he replied that’s its very high quality beef. It should have been the best burger he’s eaten. Well it wasn’t. And my sandwich was incredibly salty, I didn’t make it through half of a French dip that came out on a hotdog bun. Refused to remove it from our bill. The place has potential, too bad it’s just a tourist trap. Update, my son expressed having an upset stomach afterwards and was up throwing up most of the night.

Nice atmosphere in this retro soda fountain restaurant. The menu is varied and there are lots of fun fountain drinks. We had a Wagyu burger and a veggie burger with sweet potato fries and onion rings. The Wagyu was very tasty. Nice sized patty and well cooked. They did not have lettuce or tomato, but the taste was good. Veggie burger was OK, not great. The onion rings were perfect. Not oily. The owner/server was kind of cold and unfriendly, but we still enjoyed the meal.
