Dixie Lee Fried Chicken

It was good. I ordered the 8 piece family meal with French fries and slaw. It was good. I hadent eaten here in a while but it was just as good as I remembered it being. Its an older locally owned franchise. The service was great. The kid behind the counter taking the money was very pleasant .The building it self could maybe use an update but thats kind of the charm about places like this. I'll go back for more when I want some more fried chicken for sure.

Really good, authentic fried chicken. Extremely quick service. Far better than any fast food chicken chains I've been to. I also really like the Mac and cheese and cole slaw for sides. A huge four piece dinner with a side, cole slaw, and dinner roll will run you about $10. Huge value. The restaurant itself is very clean and comfortable. They also have newspapers and a TV.

Upon my arrival I waited a good five minutes before the lady in the kitchen eating her mashed potatoes and gravy noticed me. I'd like to see the inspector visit this place unannounced as soon as possible. I'm weary about the fish dinners I hear they aren't the best, I prefer the chicken dinner meal comes with a side of your choice and a Cole slaw salad which is good. Overall an okay mom and pop style chicken joint.

I have a friend, Jim, who's been bragging about Dixie Lee chicken and begging me to go there for about 6 months! Well, we made a day of it and went there for a bucket of chicken. He, and myself, we're greatly disappointed! He said they must have changed owners and changed the recipe. The chicken was overcooked, or reheated too many times. It wasn't freshly made. It was tough and distasteful. And at $40 a bucket! I'm sorry to make a bad review, but after all the hype of Jim bragging up how wonderful the chicken he remembered, and being so disappointed as we both were, I must be honest with you all! It's going to be KFC for us from now on. Sorry Dixie Lee, but our experience was just lousy.

A fried chicken eatery with tasty southern style meals all perfectly cooked. Large multiple piece boxes with extras included are available as well as wings, fried fish and sides including fries, mashed potatoes, & mac and cheese. I usually do not like coleslaw but theirs is the best I have ever eaten.
