While the food was good, no one wants to be urged to leave, not once but twice. I arrived and was greeted by the bartender, who I wonder may be the owner. I was sat promptly at 5:24 PM (time stamps on my texts). Order and waited, had a beer and was served at 6:00pm. By 6:25 the waitress brought me the check, which I didn't ask for. At 6:36 myself and the party of two next to me was asked to essentially leave, as they had people waiting to be seated. I don't stay where I am not wanted. I spent $75 on my meal and drinks, party of 1. That's not even the standard 90 mins that I see being plastered on establishments websites. To boot the bartender told us "...this is how we pay the bills...". Frankly, I won't be back-- pushing people out is poor business practice and this is EXACTLY why those o
Brunch was decent overall. The eggs on the Benny were poached well, and the burger patty was cooked just right. Nothing really stood out, though. I did ask for my potatoes extra crispy, but they didn’t come out that way. Also, I was curious why there was only one burger option for brunch, and it wasn’t even served with an egg option. The place itself felt a bit dark and cramped, and while our server was fine, they didn’t check back in during the meal to see how everything was. Probably won’t be going back in this difficult to find parking area.
If you're looking for a fun place to eat and drink in Forest Hills, I recommend this place. It has that dive bar vibe but the food doesn't disappoint. However, head up, this place gets really crowded every time there's a concert at Forest Hills Stadium. It's a small space, and fills up quickly. So don't even bother going there during concert season. I'd wait either in between shows, or post-concert season.
This week I made my first visit to Dirty Pierre's. It's not like I had a choice. My husband and our friends are there several nights a week and since I am often out of town, I'd never been, so I was eager to see what the draw is - and it's really simple. Exceptional food, an amazing and friendly team and an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you're eating and drinking with a group of friends, rather than with a restaurant full of strangers. The best review I can give is that in the 4 days I've been in NYC, we've been at Dirty Pierre's 3 times - and we're already planning a return! If you're looking for great food, great prices in a warm and welcoming environment - this is the place (and the sangria alone is worth a visit!).
I don't tend to give a 5 star but this has been the best place I have been to. Very friendly staff and making sure we are good. Constantly asking if we were okay.
