DeLand Regional Library

I truly appreciate this library and everything it offers the community. However, it’s becoming increasingly concerning to see a growing number of homeless individuals using the space as a place to sleep or linger in ways that create disturbances. Some appear unstable or disruptive, which raises safety concerns for families, residents, and especially children who simply want to enjoy a quiet and welcoming environment. The library should remain a safe, respectful space for learning and community use. Those who are homeless deserve proper support and access to shelters and services, but the library shouldn’t have to function as a substitute for those resources.

Well I appreciate its diversity in books especially the poetry section,but it has an overwhelming homeless population lingering and a older gentleman as a security guard who I believe needs to find a new job.All in all though as far as libraries go it is not too bad🤷

The people working there, especially at the front desk when you first walk in, sometimes they are nice and sometimes they just have attitudes. Would be nice if they were more pleasant most of the time. Besides that, nice place.

I live in Orange City & obviously frequent the Orange City Library as well as Deltona Library. Deland & Deltona Library both are favorites of mine. I like Deland & the library so much that I even became a Friend of the Deland Library which helps to support the library. Most (if not all) the libraries in the Volusia County Public Library system regularly have a variety of events going on. So I'm now one of the newest, card carrying member of the Friends of Deland Library.

Absolutely amazing place! The staff and security are nice and helpful. They also have a lot of programs for younger and older people in the community along with a detailed genealogy area. I wish I could rate this place higher!
