Davis Pastry Shop

This was a nice, quiet smaller pastry shop located in Anna, IL. The customer service was friendly and accomodating. The pastries were delicious! Prices were reasonable. Parking is located at the store front but is somewhat limited.

My wife and I bought two donuts, one cupcake, a cream horn, and a pink cookie. The donuts were fantastic with lots of flavor! I would love to have a donut every day from there. Everything else we tried was far too sweet and had no flavor. The pink cookie is a shortbread cookie, not sugar cookie, so I was expecting some butter flavor, but there was nothing. Just the sweetness from the icing. Same thing with the cream horn - just sweet. The cupcake had a hint of vanilla flavor, but not enough to overpower all the sugar and make me want another one.

I grew up on Davis Pastry cakes and pink cookies. I haven’t lived in Illinois for over 12 years now, so when I go visit, Davis Pastry is my first stop for pink cookies. They still taste good to me. My only complaint is that the last couple times I had them, they were super thin. Now, this year I knew I’d be in Illinois for my birthday so I ordered a cake for myself (haha). When I picked it up, I was completely let down. It was SOOO thin!!!! The “decorations” were atrocious. To top it off, the icing was one of the worst icings I’ve ever tasted; nothing like the real Davis Pastry icing. I ordered a half sheet and 5 people ate a small piece each. We literally threw the rest out. I was so upset especially because my granny died on my birthday this year and this was legitimately the only thing

I love the pink cookies that are very delicious but the place is ever play music but you can barely hear or playing music that you could hear

I don’t often stop at this bakery. The quality is somewhat hit-or-miss. Years ago, Davis was the place to get a great donut. Sometimes they’re delicious (when they’re delicious...they’re REALLY delicious)! Other times (like today) the danish was frozen and dry. I would have given fewer stars if it weren’t for the great customer service. When I called to let them know about my experience, they were more than happy to make it right. Hoping for continued progress with consistent quality. I think the new owners are still finding that “sweet spot”. I love buying local and want to be able to do so every time a donut is what I want. I will definitely try again. By the way, the atmosphere and merchandise are great additions! Way to make a hometown business look like the place to be. ***Edit*** O
