I absolutely fell in love with this roti spot during my stay in Queens Village. Everything about it hit the mark — the flavor, the freshness, and that unmistakable feeling of food made with pride. The roti was hot, soft, and fluffy, generously filled, deeply seasoned, and incredibly satisfying. These are big, hearty roti's with bold flavor and perfectly balanced spices. I would confidently say "D Roti Hut" serves some of the best roti in the Tri-State area. This is the kind of roti you’d want served at weddings or special celebratory occasions — memorable, comforting, and made to impress. The staff are professional, friendly, and accommodating, with strong knowledge of the menu and genuine care for the food they serve. That hospitality makes the experience even better. Another amazing meal at D Roti Hut! What a gem. We had Oxtail, roti, doubles with shrimp, mango curry, eggplant, and tomatoes. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. I am going to be dreaming about it until the next time. Euki, Sharola, and Anji were so kind and accommodating and helped explain what all the dishes were. An amazing spot worth a trek!
Popped into D Roti Hut for the first time and, honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how good that roti would be. Soft, tender, not too oily, the sort of roti that makes you stop mid-bite and reconsider all your life choices. Perfectly matched with their chicken curry and channa, which had just the right balance of spice and comfort. It’s proper food, rich, hearty, and clearly made by people who actually care about flavour (a rarity these days). Washed it all down with their Seamoss drink: seamoss, milk, vanilla, and nutmeg, and it was a revelation. Smooth, slightly sweet, and surprisingly soothing. The place itself has great character, bright, colourful, and full of good vibes. There’s even a row of arcade machines by the window, which makes it feel like you’ve wandered into a Caribbean café
Recently landed back in NY and the kids were craving some great Trini food. Stopped into the Hut and was taken care of by Euki, Slov and Angi. The roti and doubles were hitting. Can't go wrong visiting the Hut.
The servers are genuine and nice and are open to answering any questions that you may have. The restaurant is clean with a nice “home” vibe to it as if they are welcoming you into their home. My recommendation is to get the pepper pot with roti on the side. The goat is tender and the roti picks up the sweet and spicy flavors well. 10/10 would come here again!!!
