This brother here has some good authentic Jamaican food. Everything was awesome. He even took my request to try his brown stew chicken in consideration. By the way the brown stew chicken did not disappoint it was delicious. Thank you so much looking forward to seeing you again. Me and husband enjoyed everything.

The food was okay... The only thing I didn't like was the fact I was lied to. I asked for the curry chicken, rice and beans and cabbage. Familiar with Jamaican food, I asked if the curry chicken had potatoes in it which they told me yes. An hour later, I didn't see any potatos. On top of that, seems like I was given 2/3 cup of rice with a small serving of cabbage. If they had to lie about what's is being served, then honestly they were desperate to make money (mind you- there was a bunch of people who was ordering from them). I should've looked in the bowl- otherwise, I would've asked for a refund.

I tried this food truck at the fair and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. They only offered large jerk chicken trays for $21, with extra sides advertised at $5. I asked for jerk chicken with a side of mac & cheese — but was charged $6 for the side, not the posted price. The wait time was average, but once I opened the food, the mac & cheese was completely dried out — like it had been sitting in the pan all day. The "large" jerk chicken tray came with rice & peas and cabbage, but was mostly rice with just one chicken leg. Definitely not what I expected for the price. To make matters worse, I woke up later that night with food poisoning. Needless to say — NEVER AGAIN.

My Husband and I decided to stay the weekend in Roanoke Rapids, NC as a stay over for the weekend on our way back Home in Virginia. We decided to eat at: D & M Jamaican Kitchen. The reviews were great and we love Jamacian food!!!!! Their customer service over the telephone and in person was excellent!!!!! The food was freshly prepared, warm and very delicious! Very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Check out my pictures and when you stop thru Roanoke Rapids, NC. please do yourself a favor and try D & M Jamaican Kitchen. The Carrot Cake was also very delicious too!!!! Don’t like coconut? Deeply disappointed. I visited their food truck at the VA State Fair yesterday, hoping for a taste of real Jamaican flavor. What I got was overpriced, poorly prepared food that lacked the soul and authenticity of true Jamaican cooking. As someone who knows and appreciates genuine JA cuisine, I can confidently say this missed the mark entirely. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone seeking a real taste of the island.
