Cumberland Public Library

Cumberland's library is spectacular! There's a lot of beauty in the land and also the historic building. The library itself is very comfortable, bright, and quiet. I there was someone practicing ukulele in one of the study rooms 15 ft from me, and I could barely hear the occasional cord coming from the room. it was pretty impressive! I also appreciated how the wooden desk chairs had a slight cushion(and also a beautiful view!).

Unique location in a historic monastery with dedicated, knowledgeable staff. Surrounded by well maintained, wooded walking paths and with an on-site playground and veterans memorial, there is something for everyone.

A public library that used to be a monastery, and all the gorgeous architectural remnants are there to discover as you stroll the once holy grounds. Since monasteries originally gave us libraries, its poignant. Worth a visit for sure.

This library is one of my favorite places. Along with access to thousands of books, movies. CDs, etc It has a fantastic staff...both friendly and always personable.

I enjoyed visiting this library at the monastery. The grounds are beautiful with benches to sit on under the trees across the property; so serene! I was able to find a series that I can't always get at my local library. Unfortunately, because I don't live in RI, I didn't borrow them. I found the price of purchasing a library card from them too expensive at $45/year, without the option of borrowing books from other libraries within their network. Unfortunate, but I'll be back to read there when I have time to stay for a bit.
