You go to this restaurant for the atmosphere: a lot of local people from rural Vermont hang out here. You sit outside under the trees and can absorb the ambience. We ordered the veggie burger with onion rings. The service was friendly, though the order did take quite a bit of time to prepare. Prices are moderate. We did not order any ice cream.
Driving past Craven's, tucked suspiciously in what looks like an abandoned camper that screams, “We definitely have a basement… in the ground under the woods somewhere,” I joked, “This is where people go to get murdered.” Turns out, they just serve good food. Who knew? I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch because I enjoy flirting with heart disease, but imagine my surprise (and horror) when I bit into a tomato that wasn’t listed on the menu. Nothing like an unsolicited tomato ambush to ruin a perfectly good sandwich. As for the ranch? Hidden Valley. Bold choice. Like showing up to a wine tasting with a Capri Sun. It works, technically, but Ken’s Steakhouse Ranch would've elevated it from "this is fine" to "take my money." Plus, Ken’s is cheaper in bulk and doesn’t taste like sadness in a bo
What a great find this was The hamburger was perfectly prepared and topped with real bacon. The large, meaty chilli cheese fries (real shredded cheddar) was big enough to take half home. Lastly the custom blended shake pulled it all together. Highly recommend and worth the trip.
A really cute place. Great food. The fries were crispy and delicious. They had a vegetarian burger. Very charming family place with covered outdoor sitting area.
Great little roadside find! We were the only folks there when we went early afternoon. There is a nice seating area and music playing on the speaker. Food is big portions, real bang for your buck. Tastes good and the guys were nice. Including a menu in my photos since I hadn't seen one posted yet. It's totally worth a visit!
