Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I’ll be honest, we were drawn into the restaurant based on the most recent social media scandal about changes in the restaurant appearance. I’m not sure if that wasn’t just a really genius bit of marketing, rather than a scandal. It certainly put the restaurant on our mind, and when our daughter mid-hike in Red Lodge decided she wanted corn, it was the first place we thought of. Food did not disappoint, atmosphere was rustic and cozy, and service was just great.

The staff there, from the store to the restaurant were very friendly and fun. We enjoyed our meal and our server was great! The store had a lot of cool things in it and I walked away with a couple of bags of fun things, and prices were very reasonable.

The service was prompt and friendly. The food was okay. The country fried steak was tasty and tender. I enjoyed the peppery country gravy. The mac and cheese was bland, as was the hash brown casserole. I found it dryer than I would expect. The shrimp dish had good flavour and a nice kick to it. The corn muffins were really bland and biscuits were quite dry. I'll give Cracker Barrel another shot in the future when I'm around one.

The biscuits are to die for! The pancakes were equally delicious and hubby loved the chicken sausage with his egg breakfast. The coffee was a little on the weak side but the service was excellent! Surprised we were seated immediately on a Saturday morning and the wait time for the food was short. This was my first time visiting a Cracker Barrel and I was pleased.

The food was great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. One person in my group ordered cheeseburgers and they came without cheese so the waitress quickly got us some cheese. Great place. I eat here all the time. I love the decorations. Very kid friendly.
