We were in the area doing estimates and decided to stop. Note, when you walk in it’s eerily empty. You should immediately turn around and walk out, but we were hungry. I ordered a waffle with chocolate chips and bananas, this is what I got. I used to work in food service for many many years and these are the waffles that you microwave. This was not a fresh waffle. It was hard to cut without knife and it tasted like cardboard with sugar. These waffles had chocolate sauce and bananas, it was honestly disgusting. The staff was genuinely lovely—especially our waiter, Rich, who was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. Have been there several times over the years. Food has been hit and miss but sometimes a diner is just a quick inexpensive option and I never went there expecting gourmet cuisine. But after having my cousin's funeral luncheon there a few years ago I won't be back. The experience was bad enough that seeing an ad for Country Squire online made me want to write a review to hopefully spare others from an experience like my family had.
