Copper Penny Grill Rutherfordton

Sharing my thoughts on the to-go service for Rutherfordton Copper Penny. I am disappointed. We live close by, so whenever we don’t cook at home we order out. The DoorDash delivery service is usually pretty quick about getting our food to us promptly, so this is not about the attentiveness of the delivery driver. 1st photo- I ordered the Prime Rib panini, which was bland with no taste. Rubbery French fries with no ranch (that I ordered). The auju sauce was tasteless as well and no salt. 2nd photo- My wife ordered the French dip. Same problem; bland and tasteless. Bread was hard and rubbery. No salt in the auju sauce. 3rd photo- My daughter usually gets an Ultimate Grilled Cheese, which is hard and rubbery cheese that won’t even pull apart. We were in the area, both were starving and this was near by and decided to try. OMG!!!! To start , our waitress was Hannah (which was so friendly, personable) and I ordered the short ribs and husband ordered a ribeye steak (which was the size of his head). Navia bought us our food and she was super sweet as well. They were both amazing!!! The french fries were so crispy and the salad was also super fresh. My short ribs were tender and very flavorful. My husband steak was as tender as a filet and the garlic butter the chef made it with was sooo freaking good! For dessert, we ordered the apple empanada which also was delicious. Great food in a fun location. The pimento chesse fritters were amazing. The bourbon burger was also delicious. Service was a bit slow but they appeared to be understaffed at the time. There are many items on the menu that sound delicious and that I would like to try on future visits.

A contractor and I stopped here for dinner after meeting clients. Live band, great food, great atmosphere and GREAT SERVICE! Kiersten was amazing! They have a prime rib special on Thursday night but it sells out quick and I missed getting one. Ribeye was good. Very busy, small town spot that everyone loves - including me! Patio was not crowded because it was hot, but I bet most nights it is packed.

Wonderful spot to stop by for a delicious lunch, and reasonably priced too especially for the portions! Great service, definitely worth dining in.
